Shallow Lake
cotton, wool, wire and paint on canvas
12 x 12"
As with all my work, "what it is" became clear only after I had finished it, or almost. This seems to be a bird's eye view of a small lake, perhaps with a dock or two. You might be able to look through the water and see the bottom in places. I grew up loving such a lake, but really, this is just about checks, a red squiggle, geometry approaching the organic and mysterious.
